Assistance Dogs Australia trains and places assistance dogs with Australians in unique situations, Australia-wide. We currently train assistance dogs that specialise in support for people with a physical disability, autism, post-traumatic stress disorder; as well as providing a range of services to these individuals and their families.
ADA also provides Educational Assistance Dogs to schools and accredited dogs to other facilities, as well as offering Occupational Therapy and Animal Assisted Therapy services based at the Allied Health Centre in Waterfall, NSW.
It costs more than $60,000 and takes two years to train and place an accredited Assistance Dog, which is provided to the client at no cost, most of the time.
With limited reoccurring government funding, we rely on the support of the community and like-minded corporate support to raise the significant funds required to deliver our ambitious strategic plan.
As ADA plans to quadruple our size in four years, significant, well-aligned corporate support is essential to support this growth.
Our assistance dogs enahnce conneciton, independence, self-esteem, improving individuals and families' health and relationships – resulting in stronger and more successful communities.
