Sydney Water Contracts $170 Million Project

In a significant move, Sydney Water has finalised an agreement with a delivery partner to oversee the initial phase of a vast programme of projects, crucial for facilitating the development of 90,000 new residences in Western Sydney.
The joint venture of Jacobs and Seymour Whyte (JSW) has been entrusted with the management responsibilities for the first segment of the Upper South Creek Networks Programme. Together, these entities will manage the planning, procurement, and construction aspects of essential wastewater infrastructure valued at up to $170 million.
“By 2056, it is estimated 90,000 new homes and 200,000 jobs will be created in the Upper South Creek catchment, which spans between North Luddenham and Catherine Fields,” Ms McDonald said.
“That’s why this partnership is so important, and that work gets underway ahead of this growth to ensure everyone has access to critical services by the time they move in.”
Over the course of the next 12 years, the complete project will entail the installation of over 96 kilometres of wastewater pipelines and the establishment of nine pumping stations within the Upper South Creek precinct, setting the stage for significant infrastructure enhancements in the region.
