The construction industry is the backbone of the NSW economy. If it is going to grow and manage the huge demands placed upon it in the 21st Century it will have to adapt. It needs to change from an industry with the same type of people making the same type of mistakes over and over again into something much more diverse and sophisticated. Access to the industry and a chance to become excellent should be available to anyone who is serious about design and building in Australia. The way to achieve this is through the provision of excellent information and education. The Sydney Building Expo does all of this and I am proud to be a part of it.
