Gary Uys (last name is pronounced "Ace") is the Founding Director and Principal Cost Planner. He has worked in cost planning and construction cost management for nearly 30 years as both a Quantity Surveyor and as a Cost Planner.
He has held senior positions at tier one contractors and quantity surveying companies and has gained a wealth of cost management experience both in Australia and the USA for both public and private clients.
His project experience ranges from $100,000 to over $1 billion in value; providing advice on pre-design cost strategies, conceptual and masterplan costing, value management, construction cost, escalation and foreign exchange risk, Greenstar, NABERS and other sustainability cost strategies, risk and opportunities, conditions of contract and post-contract administration.
He is an Associate of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and holds a Bachelor of Building (Construction Economics) from the University of Technology, Sydney.
He has a specific interest in concept and masterplan cost planning to assist stakeholders in making early design and cost decisions and is considered an expert in design efficiency analysis particularly relating to commercial office buildings, hotels, retail and public gathering buildings such as convention centres and stadiums.
