With nearly 30 years' experience in the concrete construction industry, David has been leading the Concrete Institute of Australia since 2014. With a great appreciation of what industry and professional associations can provide to the concrete industry, he has been and continues to be active on several related Association and Standards committees. As part of his role, David has also co-ordinated and been responsible for the professional development of the concrete industry through seminars, webinars and conferences, and is actively working towards the next CIA conference, Concrete 2023, which is aptly themed "Resilient and Sustainable Concrete - Breaking Down Barriers". With a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Sydney, and a career that has revolved entirely around concrete, David understands the importance of this most traditional but ever evolving material to society and the environment, particularly as we progress towards a carbon neutral industry.
