Jonathan Tibbits is an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager, currently serving as an integral part of Responsible Wood, which is the national governing body for PEFC International, the world’s largest sustainable forest certification system. Responsible Wood manages globally endorsed standards for sustainable forests and forest products. With a passion for digital technologies and telling compelling stories of sustainability, Jonathan plays a key role in overseeing the marketing and communications program for both the PEFC and Responsible Wood labels and schemes in Australia and New Zealand.

Before joining Responsible Wood in September 2022, Jonathan operated his own consulting business, specialising in brand strategy, risk management, and stakeholder communication. Jonathan also worked as an audit team leader for the Australian certification body Global-Mark, where he conducted audits against international quality, safety, and environmental standards in Australia and New Zealand.

Jonathan's educational background complements his professional expertise. He holds a Bachelor of International Business and a Bachelor of Law (Hons) from Griffith University. He has a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and is admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland as a legal practitioner. Jonathan’s background enables him to approach his work from a unique perspective, with a strong understanding of transparent communication, stakeholder expectations and compliance obligations.

Jonathan's roots lie on the northwest coast of Tasmania. Growing up on the coast and in the bush, he developed a strong appreciation for nature and the need for sustainable forest practices. His connection to Tasmania led him to spend his university summers managing a forestry technical services business, where he immersed himself in the world of tree planting, seed collection, and field data collection for research trials.
