Widely recognised as a leader in the transport infrastructure sector, Nigel’s design intelligence is evident through his work in the field. Nigel has worked extensively with government, design consultants and contractors on light and heavy rail projects throughout Australia including metro systems, interchanges, new and upgraded stations, traction substations, stabling and maintenance facilities, depots and multi-storey car parks. He has recently led a large design team working as technical advisors on Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport, working closely with engineering disciplines and multiple stakeholders.

Nigel is motivated by his belief that great transport infrastructure is the linchpin of future sustainable cities. He has played a significant role in the development of the Architectus Sustainability Framework and was previously co-chair of the AIA NSW division Sustainability Committee. Nigel has frequently been a guest lecturer to students at the University of Sydney, presenting and critiquing on the design of rail stations. Nigel has also played a key role in helping Architectus to maintain and expand its rail sector accreditation in NSW.
