Renny is the current Australian Water Association (AWA) NSW Kamal Fernando Mentor of the Year and was also a finalist for the Women in Industry 2023, Mentor of the Year Award. Renny is an engineer, pilot, model, researcher, manufacturer, retailor, fitness instructor, sailor, and board member. Her career spans RND, planning, energy, circular economy, incident management, water and wastewater operations. She sits on the University of Newcastle’s (UoN) Chemical Engineering College Advisory Board and has sat on Engineers Australia (EA) Division Committee, the Chemical College Board, and UoN’s Construction Management Industry Advisory Panel. She was a finalist for the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards as well as EA’s Professional Engineer of the Year Awards. Renny is a champion for WaterAid’s mission participating and leading fundraising efforts like Walk for Water. Renny has also, led a team in WaterAid’s Winnovator Challenge, winning two regional awards. Renny has modelled in New York Fashion Week and appeared in the movie the Great Gatsby, and Flight Facilities Foreign Language award winning music video. Renny’s story has been told by the ABC. The City of Newcastle and UoN produced a mini documentary about Renny’s life. Her history is also documented in UoN’s 100 Women Book.
