Sara is the Antarctic Infrastructure Maintenance and Operations Manager for the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD). As a division of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, AAD operates three research stations on the Antarctic continent and one on the sub-Antarctic island of Macquarie Island.

Sara has over 20 years of experience in civil/structural engineering, project design, and management, which includes solar farm projects such as Darwin International Airport and Emu Downs. She joined the AAD in 2017 as an Engineering Services Supervisor and has since been on three trips to the Antarctic. With experience leading teams across Australia and Antarctica, Sara is passionate about creating an inclusive workforce that leverages the skills, knowledge and enthusiasm of diverse backgrounds, life stages and experiences.

She loves to travel and feels very fortunate that she has been able to combine her passion with her work and explore every state and territory in Australia. However, there is nothing like seeing penguins on the way to the office!
