KEYNOTE: Inhabitable Nature

30 Apr 2026
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN STAGE

Inhabitable nature is inspired by the interplay between the built and natural environment. BIG Landscape designs spaces where the nature and human realms not only intertwine but also mutually serve and enhance each other.

By looking at the value of landscape at every scale, from small terraces to large masterplans, this session shows how a landscape-led process redefines how we build cities. Landscape-led masterplans provide the opportunity for greater integration between the public realm and natural systems. Using these systems as a foundation creates a better path for innovation, allowing us to build urban environments that are more adaptable, healthy, and lasting for the future.
