The APTUS system revolutionises the way vertical precast concrete elements are installed by using a patented coupler connection to provide full continuity of reinforcement between precast elements. The innovative system allows for a vertical precast element to be installed and supported on the APTUS couplers prior to pouring the slab, without the need for propping, grouting, or any further works. The system is compatible with all vertical elements in a structure including round columns, rectangular columns, shear walls, and core walls.

The APTUS system was born from a desire to drastically improve the speed, efficiency and safety in the construction of multi-level buildings. Since 2015, the APTUS system has been used in over 40 projects around Australia constructed by major contractors, such as Multiplex, Hutchinson Builders, Mosaic, McNab, and more. Precast elements utilising the APTUS system are effectively removed from the critical path, as they are installed after the formwork deck is complete, and prior to the slab being poured. APTUS elements are installed in an average of seven minutes, which equates to a reduction in crane hook time of approximately 70% when compared to a similar in-situ element.

The APTUS coupler system is compliant with AS3600-2018 CL 13.2.6 for welded or mechanical splices, ISO15835-1:2009 and ISO 15835-2:2009. The APTUS system has been approved by the United Kingdom Certification Authority for Reinforcing Steels (CARES). APTUS Construction Systems is also ISO-9001 Quality Management System (QMS) certified.
