Alex is a seasoned multidisciplinary Digital Transformation Expert with over two decades of experience, currently serving as Manager of BIM at the WeBuild / Future Generation JV on the Snowy 2.0 project. His professional journey encompasses roles as an Architect at the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Autodesk Application Engineer, BIM Manager for several renowned architectural studios, Digital Engineer Lead at major design engineering firms, and a Tier 1 construction company working on some of the most significant infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand. Alex holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a master’s in digital manufacturing from ETSAB Barcelona (EU) and is currently pursuing a PhD at the UNSW School of Electrical Engineering with the Australian Centre for Space Engineering Research (ACSER).

His expertise spans Digital Design, Agile and Lean optimisation, AI for design and embodied-AI, BIM/CAM solutions for architecture, infrastructure, and manufacturing, as well as 3D printing, digitalisation, and visualisation tools. Alex is at the forefront of digital advancements in the AEC market, excelling in materials and industrialisation methods and implementing innovative governance methodologies. As part of the SpaceArchitect community, he is using his expertise to conduct research on the construction of durable, sustainable infrastructure capable of sustaining life on the Moon and Mars. He sees a clear connection between advanced technologies and those created for off-world construction.
