Statement: As a dedicated researcher and advocate for sustainable development, I am passionate about driving transformative change in the construction industry through the integration of Circular Economy (CE) principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). My academic and professional background has been deeply rooted in sustainability, with a particular focus on optimizing the operation and maintenance phase of buildings—an area often overlooked despite its significant environmental and economic impact. I bring a strong track record in leading and publishing impactful research, engaging in cross-sector collaboration, and mentoring students in sustainable construction practices. My work explores innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions, repurpose construction waste, and improve long-term building performance through data-driven frameworks and digital technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), artificial intelligence, and digital twins. As a Sustainability in Construction Ambassador, I aim to inspire and empower industry professionals, policymakers, and the next generation of engineers to embrace sustainable, circular practices. I am committed to fostering inclusive dialogue, sharing best practices, and advancing solutions that lead to a more resilient and regenerative built environment.
