Cameron Tomes is a highly experienced corporate communications and stakeholder engagement professional with over 20 years of expertise in corporate affairs, media relations, and community relations across New South Wales and Queensland. He has held senior internal and project-based management roles with organisations such as Powerlink Queensland, the Port of Brisbane, Leighton Contractors and Queensland Urban Utilities, as well as senior advisor roles with leading communications agencies like Cosway Australia and Rowland. His expertise spans infrastructure, energy, transport, and the financial sector.
Cameron is a specialist in infrastructure-related stakeholder engagement and communications and has led integrated teams on major projects, including the $500 million Western Corridor Recycled Water Project in Brisbane, the $790 million Kingsgrove to Revesby Rail Quadruplication Project in Sydney and the Works Program to supply power to LNG gas fields in Queensland’s Northwest Surat regions.
Currently, he is a Project Communications Manager (Program-level) at Inland Rail, a transformative multi-billion national freight infrastructure project, where he oversees all integrated communications driven by a team of five senior comms advisors across three states. Prior to his corporate communications career, Cameron held senior editorial roles in the technology media sector.
In his spare time, Cameron enjoys cycling, travelling and dishing up tasty meals.
