Chris Freeburn is the director of Ironbark Architecture, a small architectural practice with an emphasis on connecting with place through buildings that are both evocative and enduring.
Chris has worked on projects ranging in size from micro-homes to multi-residential apartment buildings, commercial, heritage and tourism projects. In all of his projects he demonstrates a sensitivity to place, even in urban and suburban settings, and creates a feeling of sanctuary for the users of the buildings.
Chris has tutored at the University of New South Wales, has been shortlisted for Houses Magazine Awards and is a contributor for Renew Magazine. In addition to running his architectural studio, he believes in the importance of advocating for improved practices in the industry with respect to the quality of our buildings and preservation of the environment.
