Chris Outten is the Director of Learning and Teaching – Carpentry and Construction at TAFE NSW, with more than 30 years’ experience spanning the construction industry, vocational education and senior executive leadership. A former licensed builder, Chris provides strategic leadership across statewide carpentry and construction training, working collaboratively with Industry and government stakeholders to address key sector priorities, including housing supply, workforce attraction and retention, and apprentice safety and wellbeing. He is a strong advocate for improving participation and outcomes for under‑represented groups and for promoting greater diversity across the construction sector. Chris is committed to supporting Industry to build capable, resilient workforces that deliver sustainable economic and community outcomes.
