Consul General, Philippine Consulate General

Ms. Charmaine Rowena C. Aviquivil is a seasoned career diplomat who has served in different capacities in the home office and the foreign service of the Department of Foreign Affairs. She assumed her responsibilities as the Consul General of the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney, Australia on 25 October 2022.

In the Home Office, Consul General Aviquivil was assigned in the Office of Planning and Coordination as Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Middle East and African Affairs as Director, Public Information Services Unit and Office of United Nations and other International Organizations as Principal Assistant.

In the Foreign Service, Consul General Aviquivil was assigned as Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General to the Philippine Embassy in Oslo, Norway. She also served as First Secretary and Consul and later as Consul General to the Philippine Embassy in Athens, Greece, Second Secretary and Consul to the Philippine Embassy in Cairo and Consul to the Philippine Consulate in Agana, Guam.

Consul General Aviquivil holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in Philippine studies, both from the University of the Philippines.
