David Lovell is a Director at CMS Surveyors, a multidisciplinary surveying firm based in Sydney. He holds a Bachelor of Surveying from the University of Newcastle, is a Member of the Institution of Surveyors NSW and is President of Consulting Surveyors NSW.

David has extensive experience across cadastral surveying, town planning, construction, reality capture, and BIM deliverables, including digital twins. He is particularly focused on leveraging emerging technologies to develop innovative, accurate, and fit-for-purpose digital solutions for clients.

He is a strong advocate for the role of surveyors in the digital transformation of the built environment, with a particular interest in data integrity, validation, and the critical role of spatial professionals in ensuring trustworthy AI outputs. David is actively engaged in advancing industry capability to support the delivery of reliable digital twins and truly smart infrastructure across the full lifecycle of projects.
