David is a Regional Director at SMEC with over 20 years of experience in the water resources sector. He leads SMEC’s Water Resources and Irrigation business across the ANZ region, overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects that deliver innovative and sustainable outcomes for clients and communities. His responsibilities span profit and loss, strategy, business development, operations, and technical capability development. David works closely with market sector leaders to ensure alignment across service offerings and is committed to mentoring and empowering his team. His core technical expertise includes hydrology, hydraulics, flood risk, stormwater quality, water balance, harvesting, integrated water cycle management, and drainage design. He also supervises a PhD researcher at Western Sydney University.
