Karolina is an Associate and Circular Design Specialist at GXN Innovation, the sister company of 3XN Architects, specialising in sustainability and innovation in the built environment. Based in Australia, with over 10 years of experience in Europe and working globally, she focuses on resilience, circularity, and whole-life carbon reduction, spanning building and material reuse/upcycling, design for adaptability, and design for future recovery. Karolina supports clients with ESG and portfolio-wide sustainability targets, using an iterative, design-led approach and digital tools to rapidly test design impacts and guide decision-making from early concept through delivery. In the UK, she has led and supported pre-redevelopment studies for adaptive reuse in line with emerging policy, alongside whole-life carbon assessments and carbon optioneering for major projects. She was also a work package lead in the EU-funded research project ‘CIRCuIT’, exploring how to scale circular construction across reuse, transformation, and future recovery in Copenhagen, Hamburg, Helsinki, and London.
