Kurt is a highly accomplished and business-focused safety executive with over 25 years of experience in safety leadership across high-risk industries, including engineering, nuclear, aviation, defence, electrical, water, rail, and construction.
Throughout his career, Kurt has led health and safety functions across diverse business models and complex organisational risk profiles, consistently driving strategic outcomes in critical environments.
In 2025 he was awarded the AIHS OHS Leader of the Year.
He currently serves as:
- Head of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality & Sustainability at Hansen Yuncken
- Advisory Board Chair at the University of Newcastle’s - Centre for Construction Safety & Well-being
- Non-executive Director at the Touched by Christopher Foundation, and
- Committee Member for the NSW Branch of the Australian Institute of Health & Safety
