Dr. Leo Meng is a Computational Design Leader at HDR Inc. and a key member of the firm’s global data-driven design team. His work focuses on applying data and emerging technologies to reshape design practice, spanning project delivery, internal research and development, and strategic AI initiatives across HDR’s global network.

With more than a decade of experience, Leo has led and contributed to work across multiple scales, from panelisation of complex facades and parametric optimisation of roof steel structures, to BIM delivery for large urban projects, big-data-driven site selection, and AI-augmented design methods.

Alongside his professional work, Leo’s research interests lie in AI in urbanism, with graph machine learning, geospatial data processing and visualisation, and transit-oriented development as key areas of focus.
