Nivani Pillai
Nivani Pillai is the National Diversity & Inclusion Manager at UGL, with deep expertise in embedding diversity, equity and inclusion into strategy, culture and governance across large, complex organisations. Working within traditionally male‑dominated industries, Nivani leads organisational wide initiatives across gender equality, LGBTIQA+ inclusion, cultural diversity and allyship, with a strong focus on measurable outcomes and sustainable change.
Since joining UGL in 2019, Nivani has played a pivotal role in shaping UGL’s inclusion agenda, including the development UGL’s innaugural Gender Equality Action Plan 2024-2026 and initiaitves under Women@UGL pillar. Her work connects strategy to frontline impact, driving increased opportuntiies, progression and cultural change across engineering, rail and infrastructure environments. Nivani is passionate about building inclusive workplaces where people belong, thrive and progress and about bringing leaders and teams on the journey through shared accountability, curiosity and practical action.
