Professor Srinath Perera is the founding Director of the Centre for Smart Modern Construction and holds a personal chair in Built Environment and Construction Management at Western Sydney University. A Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Builders, he is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of New South Wales.

He holds a PhD from the University of Salford, UK, and is recognised as a Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% researcher in Building and Construction. A pioneer in construction informatics, his work has significantly contributed to integrating AI into construction management.

Professor Perera has over 300 peer-reviewed publications and six textbooks, supported by several million dollars in international research funding. He currently serves as President of the Australasian Universities Building Education Association (AUBEA) and is a board member of CIB. He is also Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Q1 journal Construction Innovation (Emerald).
