I personally believe that a skills shortage does not exist to the extent that construction and engineering companies proclaim. What exists is a lack of an understanding on how to utilise the vast availability of migrant engineers who can contribute to a more sustainable industry. I’ve personally seen countless success stories of migrants from non English speaking backgrounds make the transition, I only wish there were thousands more.
