Ryan Townsend is a Digital Delivery Leader, Professional Industry Fellow, and AI researcher at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), with two decades of experience delivering digital twin and Common Data Environment programmes across major infrastructure projects — including Sydney Metro ($60B), the Suburban Rail Loop Authority ($34.5B), Changi Airport ($11.3B), GCRT Rapid Transit ($1.3B), and the Wheatstone LNG Plant ($40B) in Western Australia.

His research at UTS addresses a persistent gap in large-scale infrastructure delivery: the absence of reliable, automated data synchronisation across industry CDE platforms. Programmes routinely operate across Autodesk Construction Cloud, Oracle Aconex, Bentley ProjectWise, Asite, InEight, and Microsoft SharePoint simultaneously, yet no open, vendor-neutral mechanism exists to keep these environments in sync. Ryan's work develops the methods and architecture to close that gap, enabling bi-directional, platform-agnostic CDE integrations at scale.
