Dr Shaila Divakarla

Shaila Divakarla is a registered architect in NSW and also holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne. Over the past 20 years she has worked across private industry, government and NFP sectors while also teaching at TAFE and Universities, driven by a passion for lifting the sustainability performance of the built environment. Shaila is a Green Star and Infrastructure Sustainability Council accredited professional and also an ex NatHERS assessor. Notable achievements in Shaila’s career include the Ecoliving Display Village project, a joint project by Clarendon Homes and Landcom, which won state and national awards in 2012 and the Built Environment Sustainability (BES) Standards awarded by the Airports Association of Australia in late 2024. Shaila is currently working as Sustainability Manager – Design & Construction at Sydney Airport and is responsible for developing sustainability standards and ensuring embedded in the long-term development plan for the airport as well as all project stages of the multitude of SYD and tenant projects on the airport precinct.
