Simona Bernardini was born in Rome on 5th November 1970, where she graduated in Sociology - Communication and Mass Media. She is married to Stefano with whom she has a daughter, Nicole Ginevra, aged 12. After having held the role of Export Manager at a well-known manufacturer of Italian luxury fashion brands, in 1992 she joined the ICE-Italian Institute for Foreign Trade, now ITA-Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies. At ITA she immediately dealt with the promotion of Made in Italy on foreign markets and later also with training for companies, supporting them in their internationalization processes on foreign markets From 2008 to 2012 she was appointed Deputy Director of the ITA-Agency Office in Duesseldorf and from 2014 to 2019 Italian Trade Commissioner and Director of the ITA-Agency Office in Bern, with the mandate to reopen and develop the Swiss office. From 21 November 2022 she is the Italian Trade Commissioner and Director of the ICE-Sydney Agency Office for Australia and New Zealand. During her career she has been involved in developing and promoting projects of considerable importance in various sectors of Italian industry, including Italy in China, Italy Country Partner at the Hannover Fair, the World Economic Forum in Davos, the promo-institutional video ‘Italy Extraordinary Common Place’, Special Project for the promotion of Made in Italy in occasione of F1 Grand Prix in Imola and Monza, FDI Analyst for attracting foreign investments to Italy. She speaks fluent English, German and Spanish, loves sports, music, singing, and country line dance.
