Time and time again, Cara witnesses incredible things happen when people draw on their imaginations, apply systems thinking and relational ways of working in order to realise the potential that lies in every community.

Cara has extensive experience in community led, Country centred strategy and implementation across housing and urban renewal, urban policy and major transport infrastructure within the non-profit, government and construction sectors in Australia and around the world.

Catalysing change is a focus area for Cara, having recently stood up the transformative Social Value Communities of Practice within consultancy and state government (Transport for NSW). Using evidence based approaches, Cara encourages transdisciplinary leaders to recognise governance linkages with grassroots non-linear systems to secure immediate and long range social value, from investment and technology to project delivery and stabilisation.

As an ally, Cara is also interested in rebalancing power for adaptive capacity and innovation potential. Much of Cara’s technical ability has been forged through lived experience. Brought up by a single mum who is legally blind and deaf on the fringe, Cara is known for her passion in bringing under-represented people together around a shared sense of purpose.
