Dr Gayle Avery

Co-Founding Director, Institute for Sustainable Leadership

Gayle is a renowned teacher, researcher and educational entrepreneur in the new field of sustainable leadership. She advises and trains managers and consultants from a range of sectors in sustainable leadership – using a system of evidence-based practices that lead to high performing and resilient organisations, while benefiting the planet and society. 

Among these practices is promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which demonstrably contributes to the success of an organisation.  

Gayle has a PhD in Psychology and a Masters in Town & Country Planning. She has worked with architects and urban planners, and todaypresents on sustainable leadership practices at the national and corporate levels in Asia, Australia/NZ and Europe. 

Co-Founder of the Institute for Sustainable Leadership, Gayle is also Honorary Professor at Macquarie Business School and Distinguished Professor at Woxsen University.

Among her published books on leadership are "Honeybees and Locusts: The Business Case for Sustainable Leadership", "Diagnosing Leadership in Global Organisations" and "Sufficiency Thinking: Thailand's Gift to an Unsustainable World", co-written with Dr Harry Bergsteiner. She has published many journal articles and other books, including the best-seller "Psychology at Work".
