A civil engineer by qualification, Hugh Lister-Barker currently works as a Director within the Mott MacDonald Australian business. Hugh has worked and led significant infrastructure and built environment projects across industry with a focus on delivering engineering best practice, incorporating multidisciplinary design and championing innovation and sustainable solutions. The intent of this is to ensure that both private and public assets are not only fit for purpose, but aims to exceed user expectations whilst driving efficiency and performance.

Currently, Hugh is leading the design phase of large Transport Infrastructure projects including bridge, road and rail assets. Hugh engages with project stakeholders on a journey of collaboration with the overall intention to proactively integrate resilience in design so that these future assets meet end user needs. Hugh is there to challenge stakeholders and question how different approaches can drive greater longevity, sustainability and resilience in the assets we build.
