Summer has 10 years of research and engineering consulting experience in condition assessment, destructive and non-destructive testing techniques of concrete/steel structures, durability design, remaining service life assessments, Cathodic Protection design, development of repair specifications and remedial project management. She also has extensive research experience in the development of innovative construction products including green concrete and brickwork, assessment of materials for use in concrete, design of framed structures with masonry infill panels and laboratory testing to study the mechanical, durability and thermal properties of concrete.
