The panel will explore why the earliest stages of precinct planning are critical to delivering long‑term regenerative outcomes. Aiming to focus on how meaningful early engagement can shape integrated approaches to nature‑positive design, water stewardship, net‑zero energy, circular resource systems, social value and local economic outcomes.
Panellists will draw from lessons learnt during the early stages of the Dalmore Park master-planned employment hub, the first project in Australia to register under the Green Star Communities v2 framework.
The presentation takes a deep dive into the retrofit debate; deep green, light green, do nothing.
As best practice has driven operational energy use as low as practically possible, industry focus is shifting to upfront (embodied) carbon. We use a real world example of a residential retrofit to show the quantum of difference that is possible in reducing whole of life carbon emissions.
